The Titanic Now, I wouldn’t want to the whole ship to be in my library, only memorabilia. Something like an article of clothing or a picture of a family boarding the ship before it’s first and only sailing or even a ticket from a passenger. That would definitely make me ask questions such as “Did they make it?” or “I wonder what their experience was like?!” Why is this imaginative? They thought of the Titanic as an unsinkable ship, ironic it ends up sinking on its maiden voyage. How would the world be different? If this tragic event didn’t happen the revolution of ships would never evolve as rapidly. Of course though, if the sinking of the Titanic didn’t happen the revolution of ships would become better but happen slower.
The first television was in black and white with bunny ears and by the looks of it took up half the living room. Now in the 21st century there plasma, in colour, HD, aren’t more then a few inch’s wide and can be 3D! For someone to think of broadcasting on a device where people can see the person talking, unlike radio where you just listen is pretty impressive. This is in my library because tv and technology has become such a big part of life.
People are mesmerized by illusions. The act of tricking the mind would have one believing you into seeing or believing something that is completely different to what is happening. You would have to have a good understanding of the mind to accomplish such a feat. I would want this in my library because it encourages even the most doubtful person to enjoy the experience of deception.
Why? To have an imagination to create an illusion that you can’t stop staring at, or in this case look around.
I find it so interesting that the Ancient Egyptians thought that once you died, it wasn’t the end but just the beginning. Which they called the “after-life”, that’s actually why they built the pyramids. Fun fact, at the time when the pyramids were being built, it would have cost $7 billions dollars to make, now it would be just under $100 million and took 23 years to build one.
Why is this imaginative? The thought of the ‘’after-life’’ ….Death isn’t the end, it’s just the begining. How would the world be different? If Ancient Egyptians didn’t believe there was an ‘’after-life’’ that would probably completely alter the belief of the Egyptians now, in this time and age.
MAN ON THE MOON? People in the 1950’s would think you’d have to be crazy to think that would ever happen. But in 1969 NASA did it... They put a man on the moon for the first time, there was 5-8 other people that landed on the moon years after. The US did this out of jealously that the Russian’s got people in space first, and they wanted to go one step further and put a man on the moon! First, I find it a little humorous of why they wanted to but second of all, it’s interesting that humans with their intelligence were able to put, not just a man but men on the Moon.
Why is this imaginative? thought of a human on the moon. How would the world be different? If this historical even didn’t happen we would have been so clueless to what the Moon was like but also not have the technology we have today for space missions.
This deserves to be in my library because I find it incurable that someone could think of being able to have music in your pocket?! I ponder the thought of how an iPod, iPhone or whatever else that can fit in your pocket and play all your favourite songs?! And remember the melody, beat (all the other music terms) of ever song! If I were to think of this idea I’m not even sure where I would start to accomplish it? Also because music has become such a huge part of everyday life. .
Movies have the ability to make us cry, laugh or scare us. They can also teach as about an era or share a moment of one’s life with us. Lastly, I feel movies can teach us about history or make us aware of events that we didn’t know about.
We all of one... A Facebook, twitter, my space, MSN, an e-mail account or whatever else you might use to communicate with people, there are just different ways of doing so, other then face to face or over the phone. This to me is considered imaginative because it’s a ‘’cool’’ different way of connecting with people. It’s in my library because, just like with music, it’s part of our everyday life and is important to people.
God/Bible. I have chosen this idea (speaking from the point of view of someone who might not believe that God is real) because someone would have to have an amazing and very creative imagination to think that out there somewhere there is a person with great abilities ‘’controlling’’ what happens on this Earth. To create a book, have a religion and have many, many, people follow it is almost mind blowing. Either there was a person who could tell the future and knew that if they created a book it would become huge, knew that there is a God or it was just a lucky guess?
